A planet of sensations to enjoy without haste
Humans are an altricial species, that is, we need to continue our development outside the womb in order to achieve the abilities of our species, such as walking, talking, starting to relate to others… Because we are born very immature and we need stimulation from our environment to develop.
That is why it is so important during this first year to provide them with a stimulating, rich environment, with professionals who know very well the needs of the little ones and respond to them with immediacy and effectiveness. Because this is a stage of caring, of attending, but also of favoring at every moment what their physical and cognitive development demands. And our teachers are experts in doing so, with love and sensitivity .
Our babies at Planeta Alegria
For our babies we have created a planet where there is no rush, where they can discover the world around them with care and attention, because we know that speed interferes with learning.
A space of joy, adapted to their age and needs, with soft colors, toys and materials for every moment and positive experiences that make them enjoy learning from the first moment.
And also a place that respects their routines, their biological needs, which we always put first. Because there is nothing more important than sleeping when they are sleepy, eating when they are hungry… without waiting, and personalizing the needs of each child.
- A planet with a lot of tenderness. It is love, affection, that fosters learning and the perception that we are valuable. Our little ones need to know that they are loved from day one, that they can trust us. And this is our most important goal.
- A planet that moves. The motor milestones that occur during the first year connect sensory and motor systems that will enable very precise skills such as reading and writing in the near future while inhibiting reflexes that should lead to voluntary movements. We know this and we encourage each child to go through all these milestones in an orderly fashion and to enjoy the floor and movement from the very beginning.
- A sensory planet. Information comes to us through our senses. That's why having well-trained senses will help our responses to what we need at all times. Our babies enjoy from the first moment of sensory experiences that enhance and awaken their interest in discovering, touching, looking, feeling...
- A planet full of languages. From all languages, because to learn to speak we need to listen to the language daily, but also to express ourselves through music, gestures, plastic arts... enriching our expression from the beginning.
- A bilingual planet. It is in this first year where the exposure to the second language should begin, just when it starts. And we do it in a natural way, without "teaching", but speaking, singing, filling every moment with language.
A week at Planeta Alegria
- Games and psychomotor activities: we promote movement and specifically the motor development milestones that have an enormous importance in their later development, such as turning, crawling, crawling, walking, etc.
- Games and activities of sensory stimulation: visual, tactile, gustatory, auditory, olfactory games… to enhance the proper functioning of the inputs to our brain.
- Games and proprioceptive activities: massages and activities aimed at getting to know their own body with care and affection.
- Pre-linguistic games and activities: also taking care of routine moments that favor language development such as sucking, breathing, swallowing, etc.
- Language games and activities: because we love to recite poetry, tell stories and sing songs to our babies… and we do it in Spanish and English.
- Musical games and activities: to experiment with rhythm and movement from the time they are very young.
- Games Manipulative and experimentation activities: because exploring with their hands, with their mouths, coordinating eyes and hands with interesting materials are activities they enjoy very much.
